STUDENT VISA & PASSPORT FAQ

1. Is it possible to study at UiTM on a Social Pass?
NO. International students are NOT ALLOWED to enter Malaysia via any other pass other than a Student Visa. The University is NOT ALLOWED to convert a social or tourist visa into a Student Visa.

VISA RENEWAL

1. My current student visa has expired. What should I do?

You must immediately seek advice from the ISD Visa Team.

If you are currently in Malaysia, you have overstayed and will be subject to penalties imposed by the Immigration Department of Malaysia, which include detention and a fine.

If you are currently outside Malaysia, do not re-enter Malaysia as a tourist via a social pass. You may be required to apply for a new student pass prior to entering Malaysia.

VISA CANCELLATION

1. Upon the completion of my studies, I would like to leave Malaysia for good. Should I cancel my Student Visa?

YES. You are required to cancel the Student Visa once you have completed your studies. Please submit the Letter of Completion, your original passport and the necessary documents to the ISD Visa Team for the cancelation of the Student Visa.

OTHERS

1. What must I do if I have lost my iKad?

You need to lodge a police report immediately. You will then be required to submit a copy of the police report to the ISD Office to apply for a new iKad. Please note that there will be a fee charged for the issuance of a new iKad.
